Maritime Use Cases

This technology supports port and coastal surveillance by enabling real-time monitoring of vessel movements in ports, fairways, and coastal waters, helping improve VTS operations and reduce collision risks.

It can also detect unauthorised vessels, diver intrusions, and underwater anomalies near ports and critical maritime assets, enhancing maritime security.

The system can monitor underwater noise from vessels to help ports manage environmental impact and comply with regulations, while also protecting subsea infrastructure such as pipelines, cables, and port facilities from damage or tampering.

In addition, it strengthens maritime domain awareness by supporting the detection of illegal activities such as illegal fishing, smuggling, or piracy across large maritime areas.

Beyond security applications, the technology can support environmental monitoring and ocean research by detecting seismic activity, collecting oceanographic data, and identifying marine mammal presence to support conservation efforts.

It can also assist offshore infrastructure monitoring, such as detecting pipeline leaks or monitoring subsea cables and foundations for offshore wind farms, and support search and rescue operations through acoustic detection of underwater signals or disturbances.
