As part of the Singapore Maritime Institute’s (SMI) efforts to reach out to the industry, academia, research community and government agencies, SMI is organising the SMI Forum 2017 on
31 October 2017 at
Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
SMI Forum 2017 is a SMI’s flagship event and in its 7th year. It attracts leaders from the industry, academia and government agencies to discuss key trends, challenges and opportunities for the maritime industry. The Guest-of-Honour for the SMI Forum 2017 is
Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State for Health and Transport and the theme for this year is “
Establishing a Strong Maritime Innovation Ecosystem”.
The key highlights of the SMI Forum 2017 include a keynote address by
Deputy CEO of the National Research Foundation Dr Cheong Wei Yang, a presentation by
Managing Partner of Menon Economics Dr Erik W. Jakobsen, announcement of SMI’s initiatives and a Panel Discussion with sharing of perspectives of innovation from the government agencies and industry. The members of the Panel Discussion are distinguished leaders from the maritime community.
