Themed “Maritime Industry Transformation through Research and Innovation”, the eighth edition of the SMI Forum addresses the current landscape and future trends of research and innovation for Maritime Singapore’s long-term competitiveness. The SMI Forum 2018 will gather leaders from the industry, academia, and public sector to discuss the essential elements of building a strong maritime innovation ecosystem towards supporting the Sea Transport Industry Transformation Map to enhance the competitiveness of the maritime industry in Singapore. The key highlights of the SMI Forum 2018 include presentations from prominent figures of the maritime community in Singapore, and a panel discussion on the key areas of research and innovation to support Singapore’s Maritime Industry Transformation. The SMI Forum is also part of Maritime Singapore’s efforts to profile the critical role of R&D excellence and acknowledge the invaluable contributions by the maritime research community in Singapore.
