SUMMARY:The Brave New World of Shipping – Regulatory Emissions Challenges Facing Shipping
DESCRIPTION:This talk will explore the various future developments concerning greenhouse gas ship emissions and its future impact on the industry. Topics that will be covered are EEDI, EEOI and SEEMP as well as future developments on market based measures facing the shipping industry.Given the fluctuation in the quality of fuels supplied to the marine sector, authoritative assessment of fuel quality is essential to preventing incorrect treatment, operational problems and severe damage to fuel systems and machinery. Lloyd’s Register Group’s Fuel Oil Bunker Analysis and Advisory Service (FOBAS) provides a fast, reliable and comprehensive routine bunker evaluation programme for all fuel grades. Combining analytical expertise and engineering knowledge, the FOBAS global consultancy service helps ensure the safe and efficient use of marine fuels on board vessels. FOBAS clients benefit from a diminished risk of machinery failure, reduced maintenance costs, lower downtime and inconvenience. The lecture will be performed by Douglas Raitt, Global FOBAS Manager, Lloyd’s Register FOBAS. Registration is online here.
