This presentation aims to identify major environmental research topics and research methods in the transportation field. To investigate the research trends, this presentation selected total 1,291 papers from 52 transportation category journals published and nine logistics, shipping, and ports journals from 2002-2013. This analysis helps us understand the trend of transportation researchers’ interest on environmental issues, including shipping and port and logistics sector.&nbsp;Topic 2: Developing Environmental Performance by ANP-QFD Approach: Case of Logistics Service ProvidersAssistant Professor Jasmine Siu Lee lam, Division of Infrastructure Systems and Maritime Studies, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NTU, SingaporeThe practice of ecological logistics is increasingly in demand. The presentation proposes an integrated approach which combines Analytical Network Process (ANP) with Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The case-study of a global logistics service provider (LSP) shows how to incorporate the ‘voice’ of customers for environmental concerns into LSP’s decision-making process.&nbsp;Topic 3: Evaluating Port Network Performance under Disruption RisksMr Liu Tianjing, PhD Candidate, Division of Infrastructure Systems and Maritime studies, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NTU, SingaporeManaging risks in a complex system like port network is an intricate task. It is crucial to understand the performance of port network under disruption risks in order to develop risk management strategies. This presentation aims to propose a model for port transportation network that evaluates the long term effects of disruption risks and discusses its implications.Admission is free.
