SUMMARY:Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Composite Materials for Marine Structures
DESCRIPTION:Fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) composite materials are finding increased usage in marine structures owing to their high specific strength and excellent durability characteristics. The talk will cover three aspects. Firstly, the presentation will focus on the background to FRP composites and identify some of the challenges for ship and boat designers and fabricators in using such materials. Secondly, the talk will also address the some of the key design challenges.
