DESCRIPTION:The immense economic importance of offshore oil & gas has hastened major developments in offshore engineering and technology.  Offshore exploration & production, and design & construction in adverse and harsh environments present serious challenges to offshore geotechnical engineers.   The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the Centre for Offshore Research & Engineering (CORE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) are organising a workshop on offshore geotechnics to address some of the challenges faced by the industry.
